Humic & fulvic acid

Ancient carbon for modern soil

Humic and fulvic acid are organic compounds formed over millions of years from the slow breakdown of plant material in ancient peat and leonardite deposits, and they're two of the most powerful, well-researched soil amendments available to UK growers. Humic acid works in the soil; fulvic acid works inside the plant. Used together, they're the foundation of any premium organic feeding programme. The Dr Forest range is made with organic ingredients: humic acid flakes for the soil, fulvic acid powder for the plant, both packed in Stockport for UK delivery.

Two molecules, two jobs

  • Humic acid: works in the soil. Boosts cation-exchange capacity (CEC), holds water and nutrients in the root zone, opens up compacted clay and feeds beneficial microbes. A long-term investment in soil structure.
  • Fulvic acid: works inside the plant. Smaller molecules chelate minerals and carry them through cell walls, dramatically improving uptake of nutrients and trace elements. Apply as a foliar spray or root drench.

Why every UK grower should use them

  • Bigger, healthier root systems from week one.
  • Sharper nutrient uptake from any fertiliser you're already using.
  • Better resilience to heat, drought and transplant stress.
  • Long-term improvements in soil structure and microbial activity.
  • Compatible with no-dig, living soil and regenerative gardens.

How to use

Apply humic flakes to the soil at planting or as a top-dress, then water in. Apply fulvic powder as a foliar spray (0.5–3 g per litre) or root drench every 1–2 weeks during active growth. Both pair cleanly with our premium fertilisers and biostimulants.

Humic & fulvic acid: common questions

Ideally yes. They do different jobs. If you can only buy one, fulvic acid gives faster visible results; humic acid gives the deeper long-term benefits.
Yes. They amplify the performance of any feed by improving how efficiently the plant takes nutrients in.
Yes, at reduced rates. Use half the standard dilution for the first 2–3 weeks of growth.
Indefinite when stored cool, dry and sealed. Both are stable solid products.
Both are made and packed here in Stockport and shipped across the UK. Order the humic acid flakes and fulvic acid powder direct from this collection.
