Help the plant feed itself
A biostimulant is not a fertiliser. It supplies no meaningful N, P or K. What it does is trigger the plant's own systems: stronger roots, faster uptake, better tolerance of heat and drought, and in fruiting crops, more sugar in what you eventually eat. The distinction matters, because a biostimulant will not fix a deficiency and a fertiliser will not fix a stressed plant.
What is in the range
- Seaweed. Soluble Ascophyllum extract powder for foliar and drench use, and Scottish kelp meal for slow release into the soil. Seaweed is the best-evidenced biostimulant available to gardeners, and the value is in the bioactive fraction rather than the tiny NPK figure on the label: what the better trials actually show.
- Amino acids. Granular amino acid feed and liquid amino acids. Pre-assembled nitrogen the plant can use without spending energy synthesising it, which is why they matter most during periods of high demand or stress. Enzymatic and chemical hydrolysates behave differently, and the difference is worth understanding before you buy.
- Triacontanol. Brix+ carries seven natural growth promoters including triacontanol, a long-chain alcohol repeatedly shown to lift photosynthesis, vigour and yield. Built to support sugar levels, flowering and fruit set.
- Fulvic acid. 70% fulvic powder, the chelator that carries minerals through cell walls. Rates matter: more is not better past a point.
- Humic acid. Humic flakes, for the soil side of the same chemistry.
- Wood vinegar. Biochar condensate, a traditional Asian tonic rich in organic acids that wakes up soil biology and supports early growth.
How and when to apply
Biostimulants layer into any programme, dry or liquid, organic or conventional. The liquids and soluble powders can go on as a foliar spray for fast leaf uptake, or watered in at the roots to support microbes; kelp meal goes into the soil or compost and releases across the season. Apply every seven to fourteen days through active growth, or as a recovery treatment after transplanting, a heatwave or heavy fruit set. Adding a wetting agent to a foliar spray meaningfully improves coverage.
Common questions
Are biostimulants the same as fertilisers?
No. A fertiliser supplies nutrients. A biostimulant helps the plant use them more efficiently. They work best together, and neither substitutes for the other.
Can I use them with my regular feed?
Yes, that is the intended use. Apply on the same watering, or space them across the week.
How often should I apply?
Most of this range goes on every seven to fourteen days through active growth. Kelp meal is the exception: worked into the soil, it keeps releasing for months from a single application. Follow the rate on each product page.
Which one should I start with?
Seaweed. It is the best-evidenced and the most forgiving to use. Take the meal if you would rather amend the soil once, the powder if you feed with a watering can. Will I actually see a difference?
Most visibly under stress: after transplanting, through a heatwave, or in a crop carrying heavy fruit. On a plant that is already thriving in good soil the effect is smaller, which is worth knowing before you buy.
