Plan a year of growing
Tell us how much space you have, choose what you would like to grow, and we will work out how many plants fit and when to sow, plant and pick them. Timings and spacings follow Charles Dowding's no-dig calendar for the UK.
- 01How many beds, and how big.
- 02Browse by type, see the whole year at a glance.
- 03How many plants fit, and when your beds are full.
- 04What to sow, plant and pick each month.
Your space
How many beds do you have, and how big is each one? Charles Dowding's beds are 1.2 m wide, which you can reach across from both sides.
More options
Changing where you grow shifts every sowing, planting and harvest date earlier or later to suit your last frost. If you know your average last frost date, enter it and the planner uses that instead of the preset. Tick "under cover" on any crop in your plan to bring it forward by two to three weeks.
Choose what to grow
Press Add to put a crop in your plan. Click a name for spacing, yields and Charles Dowding's tips. The bars show each crop's year; the number under each name is how many plants fit in all your space.
