The All Purpose 4-4-4 is the general purpose fertiliser to reach for from spring onwards: even nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, released slowly as soil life breaks it down. The Bloom 2-8-4 drops the nitrogen and lifts the phosphorus and potassium, which is the shape you want once plants stop making leaves and start making flowers and fruit. What is in the pair: Organic All Purpose Fertiliser 4-4-4 — 1.5 kg, and Organic Bloom Fertiliser 2-8-4 — 1.5 kg. Why an all purpose plant food and a bloom feed are different jobs
A balanced 4-4-4 is a general purpose fertiliser: enough nitrogen for canopy, enough phosphorus for roots and flowers, enough potassium for water relations and fruit fill. Once a plant has the frame it needs, extra nitrogen mostly makes more leaf. A 2-8-4 cuts that nitrogen and raises phosphorus and potassium for the reproductive half of the season.
Organic blends release as soil organisms digest them, which is slower than a soluble liquid and is the point. Combined organic and mineral nutrition is the pattern the large meta-analyses keep returning: quality holds up better when the soil has both a biological feed and a mineral backbone (Wang et al., 2023).

Even NPK for the growing months
4-4-4 supplies nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in equal parts while the plant is still building leaf and stem.
High phosphorus at flowering
2-8-4 lifts P and K once the plant is setting flowers and fruit rather than making more canopy.
