How to improve clay soil drainage is three separate problems that get lumped together. Dispersed clay wants calcium so particles flocculate (Shainberg et al., 1989). A hydrophobic surface wants a surfactant so water enters (Doerr et al., 2000). Compacted clay wants air, which means a fork, not a bottle.

For beds, borders and general clay — not the 1 litre lawn kit. On a workable surface (not into standing water), mix wetting agent into water first at its page rate, then liquid gypsum at its ml/L, and drench the root zone. Keep the two dilutions from the two listings; do not average them. Aerate if you have a pan. Pets/children: treat as any garden concentrate while applying.
