Brix+ is a liquid seaweed fertiliser made from kelp, diluted and watered on or sprayed. The humic flakes stay in the soil and hold nutrients against leaching. A note on order of use, since it is the question we get asked. The humic and fulvic fractions are soil-first: dissolve and water them in, and they go on working between feeds. The seaweed plant food is the one you reach for during the season, on a fortnightly rhythm through the growing months, as a watered-on feed or a dilute spray on the leaf. We would rather not overclaim for any of the three. Seaweed extracts have a reasonable evidence base as biostimulants; the humic fraction has a good one for cation exchange and nutrient retention. Seaweed fertiliser, and why the soil fractions still matter
Seaweed fertiliser in this trio is Brix+, a kelp biostimulant with a low NPK on purpose. The published seaweed literature is mostly on extracts: Craigie (2011), Khan et al. (2009), and the Pei et al. (2024) field meta-analysis on sugars and yield. That is a biostimulant case, not a feed case.
Humic substances sit underneath that spray. They are about holding and moving what you already applied (Nardi et al., 2009). Put seaweed on a soil that will not hold nutrients and you are washing signal into the drain.
